Department of Geology in T.D.B. College started in the year 1984, inaugrated by the then Principle Prof. H.S. Banerjee.
The faculty member comprises of Prof. J. Chakraborty, Prof. M. Mukherjee and Shri. Sumanta Mallik
SOME HISTORICAL FACTS:
Along with Dr. M. Banerjee, Dr. S.S. Hazra also joined our department. He is now in The Department of Oceanography, Jadavpur University. Dr. A. Lahiri also served our department for a short period. Dr. S.S. Sarkar presently in IGNOU, Dr. S. Roy of Durgapur Government College, and Prof. M.T. Roy of Dhaka Polytechnique College has spend their valuable time for the wellfare of the department when there was no permanent faculty members.
ALLUMNI ASSOCIATION:
An ALUMNI ASSOCIATION was formed in 17th August, 2011. Many of the ex and present student has become the member of the association. "REUNION" celebrated on 15th January, 2012 was a huge success.
